Trekking – Kuragari Pass and Nara High Road [Sports]
From the stage of “Sunajyaya”, over three passes on Nara High Road – Route 307 - , I walked for “Hiraoka Shrine” - Total 16 km walking. I walked to be mentally and physically sound and passed waste materials out of the body. The route 307 is a way that connects between Kasuga Shrine in Nara and Midosuji-Nagahoribashi in Osaka. This road was an old high road to Ise Grand Shrine, which has over-1300-year history. On the way, there is a foot spring and a famous stone path on the national route, called as “Kuragari Pass”. The course with a variety of up down will fascinate your walking.

＜トレッキング- 暗（くらがり）峠・奈良街道＞
国道307（奈良街道）を奈良の「砂茶屋」から峠を3つ超え、「牧岡神社」まで16kmを歩きました。心身を地道に鍛え、老廃物を出します。国道307号線は春日大社と御堂筋（長堀橋）までを結ぶ道路で、昔の伊勢街道であり、1300年ぐらいの歴史のある古道です。途中足湯があったり、石畳国道で有名な「暗（くらがり）峠」があり、起伏に富んだ面白いコースです。

The start point is “Sunajya-ya”, southern part of Tomio in Nara city. I walked through the rice paddy area.

It seems that Japanese Ume plums that fully bloom in springs might bear big fruits. Hereby, I walked over a first pass, “Kuragari Pass”.

This is an inn officially designated as lodging for a daimyo in the Edo period, “Oiwake Honjin”. This is constructed by the yamato building style、the combination of roofing with the thatch and the pantile. Because the root is divided into two directions, Nara and Yamato-Koriyama, the place name is called as “Oiwake” – Separation in English.

It seems here is a police dog training school – Koriyama Police Dog Training School. By the way, I heard, to “Discipline” a dog is not to “Control it as owner’s pleases”, but to “Coexist each other comfortably”. After walking over here, we will arrive at “Muronoki Pass”.

After getting over the pass, I found a foot spring. I took a rest here. There is an automatic hot spring water selling machine. People can buy the hot water by one litter per hundred Japanese yen. Here is a popular among the citizen of Ikoma city. The spring name is “Kanki-no-yu”. The water alleviated the tension in my leg. The effect is “Recovery from fatigue”, “For aching muscle” and “For arthritis”, etc.

Next, I walked for the third pass, “Kuragari Pass” - at a height of 477 m above sea level.

I found a water wheel. It is wonder.

This is an unmanned selling stand for unmanned – 10 pieces per JPY 500. It seems we can buy a chick optionally.

I arrived at “Kuragari Pass”. This place was selected for “The 100 best road in Japan” and also famous for the stone-paved national road. I took a rest again here.

This is a picture of pass drawn in Edo period – From A.D. 1603 to A.D. 1867. At that time, there was about-20-inns post station. After the pass over, there is very sharp down slope to Hiraoka Station.

Arriving at Hiraoka Shrine soon made me find the station. Here is called as “Original Kasuga Shrine” - an object of worship was dividedly enshrined into Kasuga Ground Shrine in Nara park. Here, I thanked for the good trekking, and wished a good job gain. Today, I engaged in the good athletic activities with sweating.

スタートは、奈良市の富雄の南、「砂茶屋」です。田園地帯を抜けます。[Fig. 2]
春にたくさんの梅の花をつけた追分梅林も大きな実がなっていました。ここで一つ目の峠、「追分（おいわけ）峠」を越えます。

追分の本陣の旧家。村井家住宅。茅葺と桟瓦葺きを組み合わせた大和棟形式。宿場建築です。ここから大和郡山へゆく道と、奈良へ抜ける道とに分かれることから、追分（おいわけ；分岐点の意）という地名のようです。

警察犬の訓練場があります（郡山警察犬訓練所）。ちなみに犬の“しつけ”とは「犬を思い通りに動かすため」のものではなく「互いに気持ちよく共存できるようにするため」のものだそうです。ここを過ぎると、2つ目の峠、「榁木（ムロノキ）峠」です。

峠をこえると、足湯がります。ここで一休み。自動販売機があって、お湯を買うこともできます。100リットル/100円。（午前10時から午後7時）生駒市民人気のスポット「歓喜乃湯」。足の凝りをほぐします。効能は「疲労回復」、「筋肉痛」、「関節炎」等々。

3つ目の峠、暗峠（標高477m）をめざします。

水車を見つけました。珍しいですね。

有精卵（10個500円）の販売のスタンド。「ひよこ」の販売もあるようです。

「暗峠」に到着です。ここは日本の道百選に選ばれた場所で、石畳国道で有名な場所です。ここで一休み。

江戸時代の絵図の一部です。当時はこの辺は、20件ぐらいの宿場町だったようです。この峠を越えると、枚岡駅まで、非常に急斜面です。

牧岡神社まで下りると駅はすぐです。元春日と言われ、奈良の春日大社に分祀したことで知られた非常に古い神社です。ここでトレッキング終了のご挨拶と就業の願いをします。運動して今日はいい汗をかきました。

追分梅林の花の時期も見事でしょうね。

おはようございます。感想をいただいて嬉しいです。ここの梅はリンゴみたいに大きかったです。梅酒がおいしい季節ですね♪ とくに足湯は非常に良かったです。また行ってみたいと思います。
