My Grateful Heart! [Diary]
I went to the consulting booth in the public employment security office after a long interval. I’ve hardly got tired and lost a lot of weight, due to the business negotiation with a local press. I decide to restart the seeking, keeping those business as a second job. It would be lucky, “if I could get a translation job”, due to the local connection. It is very thankful for portents to have a place I can sleep. Going back to my first objective, I decide to seek a post, - possibly a regular employment - , in an honest way. Today, I searched a translation work in Tokyo with my counselor. I was surprised at offerings. In addition to the outclassing number of appliers, there are order-of-magnitude-salary works in Tokyo, absolutely different to the local translation business. In Osaka, translators have low status. Mostly, companies in Osaka make these job “Temporary worker’s” or “Outsource processing”. However companies in Tokyo make these works a post, due to the volume of market. These are ten times bigger than in Osaka. By just that much, the competition is harder than in Osaka. I heard in the past that excellent translators in Osaka went to fight in Tokyo. Reality's a tough customer.
If I talk with the big time translator, they appealed, “Let’s make a good work spending money, if we pay for it!”, being different to the Osaka’s, “We would like to save a bit more money!” So, Companies in Osaka, tend to be a low transaction rate and a short delivery time. Therefore, they get a cut-to-the-bone translation. It might be differences between the capital city under the global competition and a city in country side – Native Traders in Osaka tend not to be aware of those differences. Not apply only to the translation, I sometimes feel there is a slight difference about where is a most effective point for the capital investment between “Tokyo’s capital” and “Osaka’s capital”, - Hereby the capital means; “Human”, “Goods”, “Money” and “Information” The word “Kechi-Kechi”, – “Cheeseparing” in English - , are used for the Osaka Traders. Originally, this means an economical good character as a trader in Osaka in a good context. However, seen from the recent local government’s deficit or today’s economical decline in power, I feel that the character works for negative directions. If they could find a clue to change view points of “thrift” and “Investment”, they recover the position quicker than they thought.
If possible, I would like to go to fight in Tokyo. However, it would be a flower on a lofty height, wouldn’t it? If I could, I should spare a great energy for a house seeking. The housekeeping is also a troublesome factor. So, I think in the real possibility that I will wider the seeking area in distance of weekend returning in a step-by-step fashion. Also, enhancing my vitality and reviewing past failures, I would like to appeal clearly what I can and the resolution for working. Anyway, I’ve got tired. So I take a rest, and then restart the seeking.

久々に職安の相談コーナーへ。地元媒体の話で、えらく体力を使ってしまい、げっそりです。今回のお話は、地元の縁で「翻訳のお仕事があれば幸い」のサイドビジネスの程度にとどめ、求職を再開することにしました。屋根がある分両親に感謝です。初心に戻し、できれば正社員で、地道に探すことにしました。今日は、カウンセラーと東京の求人も検索しました。受ける人数もケタ違いですが、給与もケタ違い。びっくりです。田舎の翻訳ビジネスとはわけが違います。大阪というと、翻訳者の身分は低く、ほとんどが「派遣」か「アウトソース」ですが、東京は市場規模もひとけた違い。その分競争も厳しいということでしょう。大阪でできる人は東京に勝負しにゆくと聞いたことがありますが、現実は厳しいようです。
東京のトップレベルの翻訳者と話をすると「やるならきちっと金をかけていいものを作りましよう」となりますが、大阪は「削れるものは削ろう」となるので、レートも低く、短納期で、ぎりぎりまで切り詰めます。グローバル競争下の首都と、一地方都市（大阪の人にはこの認識が薄い傾向にあります）の差かもしれません。翻訳に限らず、どこに資本投下を集約させると、一番効果があるかという点に関して、「東京資本」と「大阪資本」では多少の違いを感じることがあります。（ここでいう資本とは、「人」、「モノ」、「金」、「情報」です。）よく「ケチケチ」という表現が用いられます。大阪商人器質のよさでもありますが、長らく言われる経済の地盤沈下と、府財政等にも見られるように、現在はマイナス方向に働いているように感じます。「倹約」と「投下」の視点を変える「キー」が見つかれば、再帰も早まるかも知れないとこの頃感じます。
東京に勝負したいところですが、高嶺の花でしょうか。仮に見つかったとしても、住居の手配等や、日日の生活等、大変です。実家に週末、帰省できる範囲まで求職範囲を広げ、地道に探すことにします。体力を高め、過去の反省から、何がしたいか覚悟とともにはきちっとPRできるようにしたいと思います。とにかく、かなり疲労しているので、ゆっくり休みを取って、求職を再開したいと思います。

ありがとうございます。神戸方面でいい案件があればなあと思います。今工事中の難波と阪神（九条）間がつながれば、通えないこともないですね。...三宮で求人があればトライしてみます。
